The Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC), owned by Zimplats, is a significant facility in Zimbabwe's mining sector⁴. It is located on the northern part of the Great Dyke, 80 km southwest of Harare, along the Harare-Bulawayo highway. The SMC is where the ore from the Ngezi Platinum Mine is concentrated and smelted⁴. It is the only Platinum Group Metals (PGM) smelter in Zimbabwe. The operations begin at the Ngezi Platinum Mine, which is a 1.5 Mt/a opencast and 0.7 Mt/a underground mine.
